In April 2026, Mitchell Hashimoto moved Ghostty off GitHub — not for politics, but because near-daily Actions outages were blocking his team from shipping. The EU developer ecosystem still runs almost entirely on one US-controlled platform.
That same month, attackers poisoned 75 Trivy GitHub Actions tags — stealing CI secrets by harvesting environment variables from runner processes. Credentials passed as env vars are trivially exfiltrated. Forgitry injects secrets via OpenBao at runtime: they never appear as environment variables, and expire when the job ends.

In April 2026 the Commission awarded a €180M sovereign cloud tender under a new SEAL-0..4 scoring model. Forgitry runs on Scaleway — an awarded SEAL-3 provider. No US-headquartered competitor can match this.

Forgitry is not a surveillance product. We don't profile you, and we don't monetise your metadata. These aren't policy hedges — they're commitments we've put in writing.
No data sale. No profiling.
We will never sell user data to third parties. Not to advertisers. Not to "AI training partners". Not to data brokers. Not to anyone. No behavioural profiling of contributors, no engagement scoring, no surveillance metrics inflicted on maintainers.
Minimal telemetry by default.
We collect only what's strictly necessary to run the service — auth sessions, billing events, error traces. Anything beyond that is opt-in, documented, and easy to turn off. No analytics SDKs phoning home from your forge.
